Six Transitional Homes Dedicated to Combating Homelessness |
New Beginnings of Central Florida has officially opened the doors to New Beginnings Village, a transitional housing complex aimed at supporting families experiencing homelessness in Clermont.
The dedication ceremony, held on August 27, 2025, marked a significant milestone in the organization's mission to provide safe and stable housing for those in crisis.
Located behind the organization's thrift store on Citrus Tower Boulevard, the village comprises six two-bedroom, one-bathroom units, each spanning 670 square feet.
These homes are designed to offer not only shelter but also a supportive environment where families can rebuild their lives.
Jeremy Elliott, Community Relations Manager for New Beginnings, emphasized the importance of the program's comprehensive approach.
"Residents will engage in our Helping Hands program, focusing on personal development, financial literacy, and savings," Elliott stated.
"This holistic support system is crucial for creating long-term stability."
The program, lasting between six to nine months, is offered at no cost to participating families.
However, active participation in the program's activities is mandatory.
"You have to be committed to the process," Elliott noted.
"It's intensive daily work, but it's designed to transition families into affordable housing and open opportunities for others in need."
The $1.4 million project was made possible through the support of multiple partners who provided funding and donations to furnish the homes.
Community leaders, including Clermont Mayor Tim Murray and Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell, attended the dedication ceremony, underscoring the community's commitment to addressing homelessness.
Applications for residency are set to open in October, coinciding with the completion of construction.
Eligibility criteria include being 18 or older, willingness to work 40 hours weekly, and active participation in life skills training and community programs.
For more information on eligibility and the application process, interested individuals are encouraged to contact New Beginnings of Central Florida directly.
As Clermont continues to grow and evolve, initiatives like New Beginnings Village play a vital role in ensuring that all residents have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
This project stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the unwavering commitment to uplifting those in need. |
